Understanding the Differences in Hair Types: Why We Only Sell Raw & Brazilian Hair

When shopping for premium hair extensions or wigs, understanding the differences between various hair types is essential for making an informed decision.

Raw Hair vs. Virgin Hair

Raw Hair refers to hair that has not undergone any chemical processing. It is collected directly from donors and remains completely natural. Raw hair is untouched, which means its cuticles remain aligned, offering unmatched quality, softness, and longevity. This type of hair is ideal for clients seeking hair that mimics their own texture and can withstand heat, styling, and coloring.

On the other hand, Virgin Hair is hair that hasn’t been chemically processed but may have been steam-processed to achieve a uniform curl or wave pattern. While still high-quality, virgin hair doesn’t offer the same durability and natural appearance as raw hair. Over time, steam-processed virgin hair may lose its texture or shine, which is why many prefer raw hair for its authenticity.

Brazilian Hair vs. Other Types

Brazilian Hair is one of the most popular hair types due to its versatility, natural thickness, and durability. It is well-known for its softness and luxurious volume, making it an excellent choice for those wanting a fuller look without sacrificing natural movement. Brazilian hair also holds curls well, yet it can be easily straightened, making it ideal for those who love to change their styles frequently.

In contrast, other hair types like Peruvian, Indian, and Malaysian hair offer different characteristics. Peruvian Hair is often lighter and silkier, but may not provide the fullness and durability Brazilian hair does. Indian Hair is usually finer and has a natural wave, but doesn’t offer the same thickness, while Malaysian Hair can be heavy and dense, but lacks the softness found in Brazilian hair.
